4. Final Product
McLaren Hospital updated their coverage locations in the state of Michigan and requested and updated series of maps to be used in informational packets and presentations. Six maps were created in total: one was an overview of the whole state of Michigan and the remaining five maps focused on each respective region. Readers had to understand quickly which medical facilities were in which regions.
1. Objectives
Physical Format
Coverage maps were to be printed on standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper for informational packets. For use on presentations, the final images needed to be PNGS. Brand standard colors had to correspond between CMYK and RGB color spaces as needed.
Brand Guidelines
As McLaren is an established company, branding guidelines were used for consistency.
Time
Working at a print shop meant concept to completion had to happen fast, so I worked as quickly as possible in short hour bursts scattered over a few weeks.

3. Process
I chose to focus on one region before attempting the whole map. I wanted to get the visual elements solidified before spending effort on whole project. I generated two versions within brand guidelines of the same region and let the client choose which version they preferred stylistically. The version on the right was chosen and together the client and I perfected the diagram. After the client and I had a clear direction, I proceeded with the rest of the project.
